Arenal Volcano Combo

Nature Lovers and Adventure Seekers agree that this combo trip is one of our best tours!  

The adventure begins at 4:30 am, with a pick-up at the Westin Reserva Conchal Hotel in order to accommodate the 4-hour drive (each way).  This early start time allows us to maximize the adventures ahead in the Arenal  Volcano National Park, with its two majestic volcanoes and over 29,000 acres!

The drive to the park is not for the faint of heart as the roads often get interesting, particularly as we reach Arenal Lake!  We make multiple stops for breakfast and to capture the breathtaking photographic opportunities.

Our first destination is the Eco Center.  The Eco Center will provide you with information on the rain forest and the many spectacular creatures who call this area home.  During this guided visit, Nature Lovers will enjoy a variety of lush and vibrant plants such as orchids, bromeliads, palms, native bushes and ferns, and the exotic heliconia (which are nicknamed “hanging lobster claws”).  The gorgeous rain forest flora attracts more than 150 species of birds, sloths (both two and three fingered), bats, caimans (a type of alligator), iguanas, basilisks (a type of lizard known to “walk on water”), snakes, frogs and butterflies.

We then head to the La Fortuna Waterfall Hike for our Adventure Seekers.  While the hike there requires a bit of physical effort to reach the swimming pond, the destination is worth the journey. The La Fortuna Waterfall emerges from dense jungle greenery before plummeting some 200 feet (65 m) into an emerald pool below.  The cold water is refreshing after a nice, heart-pumping hike! 

Our long day comes to a close as you relax in the 25 thermal water pools filled by the crystalline waterfalls.  As you relax in the hot springs (naturally heated by the volcano) you will enjoy a delicious, complimentary buffet.

After a long day of adventures and taking in the beauty this land has to offer.  You will enjoy the magic of this rejuvenating place as you float in the hot springs, with birds singing and the sound of water falls cascading, closing your day with relaxation and recovery.

Pick Up/Drop Off:  4:30 am pick up at Westin Reserva Conchal Hotel; location and drop off time to be determined based on guests needs

Meals/Snacks:  Meals include breakfast, snacks and buffet dinner

What to Wear/Bring:  Comfortable clothing for hiking; bathing suit for soaking in the hot springs; sunscreen; close toed shoes preferred; sunglasses also helpful; a simple backpack that you can carry easily; your attitude for adventure; a smile

What Not to Bring:  Things of value that should not get wet or you’d be sad if they got lost (examples:  iPad; iWatch, car keys to a rental car; your passport).
